Privacy Policy
Linggo LLMs is a communication board for adults with aphasia, dementia or a brain injury, and for autistic people and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. It is made by Linggo USA Inc ("Linggo LLMs", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and password (stored only as a protected hash by our sign-in service), and your mobile number if you choose to give it.
- Your board: the words, phrases, topics, pictures and recorded voice clips you add, and your settings such as language, voice and appearance.
- Setup answers: what you tell us during setup so the board can be shaped for you, for example who it is for and how they communicate.
- Beta information, only if you agree: if you join the beta, the words and sentences chosen and said on the board, the topics used and how long the board is used, linked to a beta number rather than your name.
- Technical information: basic logs such as the time of a request and error messages, used to keep the service running and secure.
Some of this information can be health information, because it can show that a person has a communication disability. We treat all of it as private.
How we use it
- To run the board: show your topics, speak your words aloud and keep your board the same on each device.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send service messages: sign-in codes and account notices by email, text message (SMS) or WhatsApp.
- If you join the beta, to learn how the board helps people and improve it.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who processes it for us
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), in the United States: hosting, database, file storage, sign-in, text-to-speech voices, the AI features of the board, and text messages. We have a business associate agreement with AWS.
- ElevenLabs: off unless you choose it. If you connect your own ElevenLabs account to speak with your own voice, the words to be spoken are sent to ElevenLabs under your own ElevenLabs account and its terms. Amazon Polly voices and the device's own voice do not use it.
- Meta (WhatsApp): only if you choose to get messages by WhatsApp.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Text messages and WhatsApp
If you tick the box to get text messages, we send sign-in codes and account notices (for example "you have a new message, open the app") to the number you give. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, or HELP for help.
Your mobile number and your agreement to receive texts are never shared with or sold to anyone for their own marketing. Text messages and WhatsApp messages never contain health information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and board while your account is open. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your account and board. Beta information is kept until the beta ends or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Your choices
- See and change your board and settings at any time in the app.
- Stop sharing beta information, and delete what was shared, in Settings.
- Stop text messages by replying STOP.
- Delete your account in Settings, or ask us to.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it.
Families, carers and therapists
A family member, carer or therapist may set up the board for someone. They should do so with that person's agreement, or with the legal authority to act for them. The app is for adults and for families setting it up on someone's behalf; we do not knowingly let children under 13 open accounts themselves.
Security
Information is encrypted while it travels and while it is stored. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the service.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
